An image forming apparatus is provided to reduce time needed in forming images and to enhance usage rate by transmitting plural data sets to plural image forming devices and enabling the devices to form plural images concurrently. An image forming apparatus includes a relay unit(200), plural image forming devices(300) and a host(100). The relay unit has plural access ports which output data. The plural image forming devices connected to the plural access ports forms images by using the data, respectively. The host selects one among the plural image forming devices in correspondence with image attributes of read data, and transmits the data to the relay unit for outputting the read data to the access port matched with the selected image forming device.
