A system and a method for generating an online electronic document are provided to simplify procedures by skipping other special scanning tasks, thereby preventing paper from being abused. A system for generating an online electronic document includes an electronic document system(20) and an information terminal(10). The electronic document system processes and manages the electronic document arranged in a bank, an insurance company or an authorized electronic document depository. The information terminal receives information on customers at a business field and transmits the received information to the electronic document system over a wireless or wired network. The electronic document system includes a communication unit(21), a decoding unit(22), an electronic paper converter(23), an error detector(24) and a database(25). The communication unit receives the electronic document from an information terminal. The decoding unit decodes the received electronic document if it is encoded. The electronic paper converter converts the electronic document into a new electronic document which can be used in each company by adding new necessary information or an electronic signature to the original electronic document. The error detector detects an error when the electronic document conversion is performed in case that mandatory information is not included or there occurs an error in personal information. The database stores the generated electronic document.
