The method involves comparing a value of an equivalent resistance at a secondary terminal of a transformer with a predetermined threshold. Discharge of storage capacitors (CB2 to CBn) in a primary winding of the transformer is controlled at different cycles when the value of the resistance exceeds the threshold. The discharge of the capacitors is prevented at each cycle during the current cycle and delay triggering, when the value of the resistance is lower than the threshold. The discharge of the capacitor is controlled if the triggering is completed as long as the delay is not triggered.
