357,827. Cigarette-making machines. UNIVERSELLE CIGARETTENMASCHINENFABRIK J. C. MœLLER & CO., 48, Zwickauerstrasse, Dresden, Germany. Oct. 31, 1930, No. 32789. Convention date, July 31. [Class 130.] The hopper y is replenished periodically by quantities weighed on a screen e in the pneumatic conduit a<1>. A suction device b draws the tobacco on to the counterpoised and pivoted screen until it tips, drawing the lever e<1> to the top of a slot in the link h, and moving the funnel member k out of register with the pipe a<2>. At the same time the inlet to pipe a<1> is closed electromagnetically. Tipping is not completed however and discharge effected as long as the cam s holds up the adjacent end of the lever u. At this point the screen e tilts sufficiently for the compressed air pipe a<3> to register with the funnel k. Lamp signals may be fitted indicating the sufficiency or otherwise at the intake of conduit a<1>, and also with regard to that in the hopper y.
