<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refill ink which is good in storage stability even when mixed with residual ink in the cartridge and also is good in discharge stability, and an ink cartridge refilled with the refill ink. <P>SOLUTION: This refill ink to be refilled into a used ink cartridge comprises at least a colorant, a humectant and a surfactant, which satisfies formula: B/A≤2, where A is a number of coarse particles with ≥0.5 μm particle diameter in mixed ink immediately after mixing so that the residual ink remaining in the used ink cartridge is mixed with the refill ink so as to be 1:1 volume ratio (residual ink:refill ink), and B is a number of coarse particles with ≥0.5 μm particle diameter after allowing the mixed ink to stand under an atmosphere of 25°C and 50% relative humidity for 24 h. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
