PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color-developing polymer particle that develops a desired color after preparation and causes no elution of a coloring matter after color development. SOLUTION: The color-developing polymer particle has a portion developing a color by a coupling reaction with a compound capable of coupling therewith, wherein the portion developing a color has a residue of a structure represented by general formula (1).
