PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp enabled to easily manufacture and capable of preventing defects by abnormal discharge at the end of life in an early stage without giving bad influence to a normal discharge condition, and a lighting fixture with above the fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: The fluorescent lamp 1 is provided with a pair of lead-in wires 2, 2 supporting both end sides of a filament 9, a glass bulb 3 mutually having squeezed seal parts 11, 11 with a pair of lead-in wires 2, 2 sealed at both end parts 3a, 3a, a narrow tube 4 made of a glass of which one end side 4a is sealed and protruded from the squeeze seal part 11 to inside the glass bulb 3 as well as the other end side 4b is welded to the squeeze seal part 11 between the pair of lead-in wires 2, 2, and with impurity gas or impurity gas discharge substance 12 sealed inside, a phosphor film 5 formed on an inner face side of the glass bulb 3, and a discharge media sealed inside the glass bulb 3.
