<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display capable of selecting from among two or more ranges of visual field angles. <P>SOLUTION: The plane light source device, equipped with a main face irradiating light, is provided with a plurality of light guide plates 8 corresponding to a plurality of regions made by zoning the main face in parallel, an optical film fitted to a light-irradiating face side of the light guide plates 8, and an optical driving means controlling lighting-on/lighting-off of the plurality of light guide plates 8.
