PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system that can perform high-capacity data communication between information devices using a UWB communication scheme employing a high-frequency wide-band signal. SOLUTION: The communication system performs high-speed data transmission of a UWB signal by electrostatic coupling between high-frequency couplers that are provided in each of a transmitter and a receiver. Communication instruments which wish to perform communication are brought close to each other physically, thus the communication system intuitively selects a communicating party wished to be communicated without any complicated setting to start communication operation, and when the communicating party does not exist nearby, the communication system does not radiate radio waves, thus the communication system does not disturb other communication systems. Even if radio waves arrive from afar, a coupler does not receive the radio waves, thus the other communication systems do not interfere the communication system. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
