A process for producing a contact lens, in which not only can reduction of production cost be attained but also a lens blank with excellent shape stability can be obtained. Polymerizable material (32) is injected in the state of having free surface (64) into molding cavity (30) of molding die (18). Thereafter, polymerization molding of lens blank (66) is carried out while, with bottom face (26) of the molding die (18) directed to the outside with respect to central axis of rotation (49) extending in the vertical direction, rotating the molding die (18) around the central axis of rotation (49).
