<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely suppress step out during the slow up start of a stepping motor. <P>SOLUTION: The motor drive control device performs the slow up start for the stepping motor. The control device has a motor drive control means for exerting rotation control for the stepping motor with a pulse within the maximum self-start frequency range until a predetermined time has elapses from the start. If step-out due to, e.g., vibration of the motor may occur before the predetermined time elapses from the start, the rotation control is exerted with the pulse within the maximum self-start frequency range.
