PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber in which a gas is sufficiently prevented from being mixed into a liquid and a proper damping force is generated. SOLUTION: This shock absorber D having a reservoir R with a gas chamber D and a liquid chamber O formed in the gap between a cylinder 1 and an outer tube 2 covering the cylinder 1 comprises a partition member 10 installed in the liquid chamber O of the reservoir R and partitioning the liquid chamber O into upper and lower chambers o1, o2; a restrictor 10a allowing the upper and lower chambers o1, o2 to communicate with each other, and a pair of spring elements 11, 12 installed in the reservoir R and elastically supporting the partition member 10 from the upper and lower sides.
