<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-modulus polybenzoxazole film of low surface roughness obtainable using highly safe raw materials and without using any strong acid in its production process, namely low in environmental burden. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing the polybenzoxazole film comprises the step of casting an organic solvent solution of a polybenzoxazole precursor on a substrate and evaporating the solution to dryness to obtain a self-supportive polybenzoxazole precursor film, the step of peeling the polybenzoxazole precursor film off the substrate, and the step of conducting a heat treatment of the polybenzoxazole precursor film under holding it at least unidirectionally. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
