PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device superior in operability when setting a sheet in a loading position and in performance for separating and feeding the sheet. SOLUTION: A guide member 150 for guiding an upper surface and an under surface of a document is arranged for guiding the document 2 to a loading position. The guiding member is provided with a set position for guiding the document to the loading position so as not to contact with a feeding roller 155, a recording-sheet separation position with drawn for separating and feeding recording sheets 3, a document separation position for guiding the document to the feeding roller, and a sheet return position for enabling motion of a member 159 for returning the sheet to the loading position.
