A method of manufacturing an electrode array for a photovoltaic cell array of the type in which the electrolyte within each cell is insulated from direct electrical contact with the electrolyte in neighbouring cells by means of fibres coated with a hot-melt adhesive, the method comprising: (a) transporting a supply of said coated fibres to a processing station; (b) depositing the coated fibres on to a substrate at the processing station; (c) applying heat to the coated fibres during the transport thereof to the processing station so as to raise the temperature of the adhesive to a value below its melting point; and (d) applying heat to the coated fibres during deposition thereof on to the substrate at the processing station so as to raise the temperature of the adhesive to its melting point. |
