PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device capable of reducing a fuel consumption by reducing engine rotation speed even in working when a load exerted on an engine is small. SOLUTION: The engine 31 is connected with a main pump 32 and a main valve 34 is connected to a discharge passage 33 of the main pump 32. An electric type operation lever 41 controls solenoid proportional valves 35, 36 by a body controller 37 to operate the main valve 34. Engine rotation speed is set with an acceleration dial 42 connected to the body controller 37. A load sensing pressure sensor 51 is provided for detecting load sensing pressure from passage 46, 47 on a side closer to the load than the main valve 34. A boom head pressure sensor 52 is provided in the passage 47 on a head side of a boom cylinder 16c. The body controller 37 has a function of reducing the engine rotation speed from the maximum rotation speed to a rated rotation speed when the load sensing pressure detected by the load sensing pressure sensor 51 is lower than the set value.
