A wheel drive shaft (4) rotates with an inner ring (2) for a rolling/ball bearing (5), a brake disk (3) and a wheel rim (6). By using two strips (10a,10b) fixed on the inner ring to measure expansion, a telemetry transmitter (15) transmits output signals from the strips to a telemetry receiver (13) on a fixed wheel bearing outer ring (1). The telemetry receiver connects to an evaluating device via a connection wire.
