An electrode assembly, a secondary battery containing the electrode assembly, and a middle-sized battery pack containing the secondary battery are provided to lower a manufacturing cost and to improve output characteristics without the deterioration of capacity. An electrode assembly comprises a plurality of electrode groups capable of being charged and discharged, wherein the electrode groups comprise a positive electrode and a negative electrode facing each other and a separator interposed between them, at least one electrode group of them comprises a capacitor type electrode group, and the negative electrode(230) of the capacitor type electrode group faces with the unit cell(400) for a secondary battery. Preferably the unit cell for a secondary battery facing with the capacitor type electrode group is a positive electrode.
