A submersible container (1) for treatment of effluent comprises a tank containing effluent treatment apparatus, a sealable effluent inlet connected to the apparatus and a sealable outlet for discharging treated water from the apparatus, wherein the container is able to admit water into a predetermined portion of the container to transform the container from a transportable mode to a treatment mode. The container may comprise a cylindrical body which is rotatable from an elongate floating transportable mode to a more vertically-aligned treatment mode. The inlet means may be connectable to a sewage outlet of a boat or other waterside structure. The container may be provided with a plurality of inlet means connectable to a plurality of boats and/or structures. The outlet means may exit directly to a waterway in which the container sits. The container, in its treatment mode, may be anchorable adjacent a boat or structure. |
