A powder-metering device (1) with a holding container (2) and a metering head (3) is equipped with a discharge feeder element (8) that rotates on a vertical shaft (14) with a central longitudinal axis (9). The metering head (3) has a recirculating device (10) which also rotates about the central longitudinal axis (9) and thereby introduces a flow pattern (R) in the powder in the metering head (3), so that powder which is not expelled by the discharge feeder element (8) through a discharge orifice (5) at the bottom of the metering head (3) is directed radially outward and upward on a circulatory path (R) that returns the same powder for a new approach to the discharge feeder element (8).
