A space-saving opening and closing door is provided to utilize indoor space wide by causing a first door member to slide with regard to a second door member when the door opens and closes. A space-saving opening and closing door comprises a first door member(1) having a handle and a second door member(2) having hinges. The box-shaped second door member, whose one side is open, is provided with frames at upper and lower parts. Rollers are installed at the frames. A mohair is installed at the opening of the second door member to seal the space between the first door member and the second door member. The first door member includes roller rails and a part(1b). The part of the first door member is inserted in the second door member. A rotating frame(3) is fixed to one upper part(5) of the first door member and one upper part(4) of a door frame such that the rollers of the second door member slides along the second door member, when the door rotates. Width of the door gets smaller by sliding the first door member into the second door member, when the door is opened. |
