A dye-sensitized solar cell and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to extend a lifetime of a solar cell by preventing an electrolyte in the solar cell from being dried. A dye-sensitized solar cell includes a first electrode(10), a second electrode(20), and an electrolyte(30) between the first and second electrodes. A porous film(13) containing dyes is formed on one side of a transparent plate(11) of the first electrode. The second electrode is arranged to be opposed to the first electrode. The space, which is formed by a glass frit plastic(40), is filled with the electrolyte. The glass frit plastic separates the first and second electrodes from each other by a constant distance. The second electrode includes a support plate(21) and a catalyst metal layer(23), which is formed to be apart from an overall surface or an edge of the support plate by a predetermined distance.
