Method and device for controlling the establishment of communication links

The method involves determining a response to requests for establishing a communication connection to a subscriber based on predetermined modes of response. The modes of response are determined based on various communication services e.g. short message services (SMS). The mode of respective response that is applicable to the corresponding communication service is determined and activated based on requirement of the mode of response, if another subscriber makes a request for establishing a communication connection to the former subscriber.
