An apparatus and a method for compensating images, a recording medium having a program for utilizing the method, and an apparatus for displaying images are provided to adjust a compensation value using an adjustment value by setting the compensation value for every line based on an image signal from outside. An apparatus for compensating images includes a line load calculating unit(102), a compensation value setting unit(104), a whole load calculating unit(106), a compensation value adjusting unit(108), and an image signal compensating unit(112). The line load calculating unit calculates loads for every scan line based on an image signal from outside. The compensation value setting unit sets a compensation value for compensating the image signal based on the calculation result for every line. The whole load calculating unit calculates whole load for full screen. The compensation value adjusting unit adjusts the compensation value for every line based on the calculated whole load. The image signal compensating unit compensates for the inputted image signal based on the adjusted compensation value. |
