摘要 A method and an apparatus for code block segmentation in a mobile communication system are provided to minimize a filler bit number and to simplify a structure of a system by forming a size of each code block with a particular bit unit and performing a channel encoding process. A segmentation unit(302) sets a code block number C as a minimum integer T when an information word length X is larger than a predetermined maximum code block length Z. The minimum integer is not smaller than a number obtained by dividing X by Z. The segmentation unit sets the minimum integer by dividing the information word size by the code block number when determining sizes of all code blocks as the same value. The segmentation unit determines a value contiguous to T of values for setting the code block size as 8 bit units, as K. The segmentation unit generates the code block by inserting a filler bit into the code block when a value obtained by multiplying K by C is larger than X. A channel encoder(304) performs a channel encoding process for each code block outputted from the segmentation unit. A channel demodulator(306) modulates an output of a channel encoder. A transmitter converts an output of the channel encoder to a signal of a transmitting band.
