An optical cable module comprises an optical waveguide (10), a light receiving element (11), and a supporting substrate (14) arranged at the exit side end thereof. Relative positional relationship between the end portion of the optical waveguide (10) and the light receiving element (11) is fixed. End face at the optical waveguide (10) is not normal to the optical axis (X axis) but is cut obliquely to form an optical path conversion mirror (10D). When light (shown by a solid line in the drawing) passing through the center of optical axis cross-section of a core portion (10A) is reflected on the optical path conversion mirror (10D) and reaches the light receiving surface at an optical axis reflection position, the center of the light receiving element (11) is shifted from the optical axis reflection position in the optical cable module (1).
