A ballast system for a ship is provided to stably sail the ship by reducing pressure inside a ballast pipe through a pressure converting unit to raise seawater inside the ballast pipe and lower a hull. A ballast system for a ship includes ballast pipes(100), marine organism introduction preventing nets(200), and pressure converting units(300). The ballast pipes are installed at a stem unit, a stern unit, and both side units(40) inside a hull(10), and one ends thereof are coupled with a bottom plate unit(50) of the hull to introduce external seawater thereinto. The marine organism introduction preventing nets are installed at lower ends of the ballast pipes to introduce only a predetermined size of marine organisms into the ballast pipes. The pressure converting units are installed in the ballast pipes and reduce pressure inside the ballast pipes to raise seawater introduced inside the ballast pipes and lower the hull.
