A culture apparatus comprising a constant-temperature chamber regulated so as to meet a predetermined environmental condition and used for culturing a specimen in a culture vessel in the constant-temperature chamber. The culture apparatus further comprises a transfer device, an imaging unit, and an image analyzing unit. The transfer device transfers the culture vessel in the constant-temperature chamber. The imaging unit images the whole of the culture vessel in the constant-temperature chamber. The image analyzing unit analyzes the operating state of the couture apparatus and the culture endearment state of the specimen from the whole observation image of the culture vessel taken by the imaging unit and outputs an abnormality signal for reporting an abnormality of the operating state or the culture environment state depending on the analysis results. |
