A backlight unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the same are provided to reduce its length by installing a light guide plate having a plane unit and a curve unit and dispose an LED between the plane unit and the curve unit. A light guide plate(400) has a plane unit(400a) and a curve unit(400b) curved from the plane unit. An LED(Light Emitting Diode)(300a) is installed between the plane unit and the curve unit. A reflection plate(410) is installed in an outer side of the curve unit. The outer side of the curve unit is formed in one of a polygon shape, a semicircular shape and a semi-oval shape. |
