PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system and a remote control method easily identifying a controlled apparatus associated with a selected remote control apparatus. SOLUTION: A remote control system 1 comprises a remote control apparatus 10 and a controlled apparatus 30 remotely controlled by the remote control apparatus 10. If an operation detection portion 11 (for example, acceleration sensor) detects a pre-remote control operation for the remote control apparatus 10 by an operator, the remote control apparatus 10 transmits a signal 20 from a signal transmitting portion 12 for a certain time. The controlled apparatus 30 receives the signal 20 from the remote control apparatus 10 at a signal receiving portion 31, and then, at a signal analysis portion 32, compares an identification data for the remote control apparatus 10 contained in the received signal 20 with identification data stored in the own apparatus. If both of the identification data are in agreement, notification is issued from a notification portion 34. Thereby, the operator can easily identify the controlled apparatus 30 associated with the selected remote control apparatus 10 before remote control operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
