PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten starting time at the time of starting an optical disk device in the continuously loaded state of the same disk. SOLUTION: The signal processor for recording/reproducing a signal in an optical disk is provided with a condition setting circuit for generating parameter values to constitute recording/reproducing conditions according to the type of the optical disk loaded in the optical disk device, a nonvolatile memory for storing the parameter values, and a signal processing circuit for executing, after the storage of the parameter values in the nonvolatile memory, recording/reproducing in the optical disk based on the parameter values stored in the nonvolatile memory. The condition setting circuit generates the parameter values to set them in the signal processing circuit based on a status signal indicating the state of the optical disk loaded in the optical disk, or reads the parameter values stored in the nonvolatile memory to set them in the signal processing circuit.
