PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a powdery detergent composition which shows reduced adhesion of a raw material to a production apparatus and is excellent in flowability. SOLUTION: The method for producing a powdery detergent composition comprising a specific inorganic salt (A), a specific chelating agent (B), and 1-20 mass% of a nonionic surfactant (C) comprises the successive steps of preliminarily charging a part or all of the component (A) which corresponds to 0.5-20 times the charging amount of the component (B), charging the component (B) and a residual part of the component (A) if it is present, charging the component (C) while mixing the components (A) and (B) or after finishing the mixing, and mixing all the components.
