PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stamp featuring the shooting of the trouble to continue a stamping operation and the capability of performing the continuous stamping operation simply and rapidly. SOLUTION: This stamp comprises a base cartridge 1, a sleeve 2 which can be fitted to the outside of the base cartridge 1 in a freely vertically movable manner, an inner tube 3 which moves up and down inside the base cartridge 1 following the movement of the sleeve 2, a printing unit 4 fixed inside the inner tube 3, a spring 5 which urges the sleeve 2 upward, a protective lid 6 which covers the stamping surface 8 of the lower side of the printing unit 4, and a securing means 9 which locks the descending sleeve 2 so as to disable the ascent of the latter. In addition, the protective lid 6 rocks between a "closed" position in which the protective lid 6 finds its way into the base cartridge 1 from a cover opening 11 formed above the lower end surface 1a of the base cartridge 1 and is located under the stamping surface 8 of the ascending printing unit 4 and an "open" position in which the protective lid 6 retreats to the outside of the base cartridge 1. A lid opening/closing mechanism rocks the protective lid 6 to the "open" position in accordance with the descent of the sleeve 2 and at the same time, rocks the protective lid 6 to the "closed" position in accordance with the ascent of the sleeve 2. The securing means 9 automatically secures the sleeve 2 to the base cartridge 1 when the sleeve 2 descends to the "open" position of the protective lid 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
