PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending habit correcting method and apparatus for a flexible endoscope capable of returning a curve formed on a flexible insertion section due to a sterilization process by an autoclave, into a completely straight original state. SOLUTION: The flexible insertion section 12 with the bending habit of the endoscope is made to pass through a clearance between first and second rollers 31 and 32 and a clearance between the first and third rollers 31 and 33 into a state being bent in the direction opposite to the bending habit, wherein the rollers are rotatably disposed around their axes respectively, and the three rollers 31, 32 and 33 are moved along the flexible insertion section 12 to correct the bending habit of the flexible insertion section 12 into a straight state.
