<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling the combustion of an engine enabling a recovered amount of water expected from a control target value to match an actually recovered amount of water even if the compression ratio of the engine is variably controlled. <P>SOLUTION: As shown in Fig. 13, the engine having a piston 9 reciprocating in a cylinder comprises a compression ratio variable mechanism capable of variably controlling the compression ratio of the engine according to the drive amount, a compression ratio variable control means 39 for variably controlling the drive amount given to the compression ratio variable mechanism according to the operating conditions of the engine so that the control target value of the compression ratio can be obtained, a water injection device 62 for injecting water into a combustion chamber, and a water recovery device 121 for recovering the moisture in the exhaust gas by cooling a part of the exhaust gas for condensation and liquefaction and supplying the recovered water into the water injection device. The control target value of the ratio of the exhaust gas introduced into the water recovery device 121 or the control target value of the exhaust gas amount introduced into the water recovery device is variably controlled according to the compression ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
