PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water closet which can secure the quantity of flushing water required for locking communication between a drain trap pipeline and a bowl even during a power failure. SOLUTION: This water closet comprises: a toilet bowl body 2 which is provided with the bowl 12, a rim water-ejection port 18 and a jet water ejection port 16 for ejecting the flushing water, and the drain trap pipeline 14; a water storage tank 32 for storing the flushing water; and a flushing water supply means 40 which supplies the flushing water to the rim water-ejection port, supplies the flushing water to the jet water ejection port by resupplying the flushing water to the water storage tank, and is driven by electric power supplied from a power source. The flushing water supply means is equipped with a pressure pump 34 which supplies the flushing water stored in the water storage tank to the jet water ejection port by pressurizing the flushing water. On the occurrence of the power failure during the operation of the pressure pump, the pressure pump supplies the jet water ejection port with the flushing water in quantities (Q1+Q2) required for locking communication between the drain trap pipeline and the bowl by the rotation of its rotating portions 52 (48, 46a and 50a) by an inertial force.
