摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a larger effect of reducing drag torque in a wet friction material even at a part where the quantity of lubricating oil is large and at a part where lubricating oil is hard to flow through. SOLUTION: In a wet friction material 1, when rotated in a direction of an arrow mark in a non-engaged state, an ATF (automatic transmission fluid) supplied from the inner periphery as shown by a branched arrow mark abuts on an enlarged portion 3d on the rotation rear side to supply the ATF to a friction surface of a friction material base material 3B, and the ATF further abuts on a slotted part 3a of a friction material base material 3A to supply the ATF to the outer peripheral side from an intermediate part of the friction surface of the friction material base material 3A. As a result, the ATF is positively supplied to the whole friction surfaces of the friction material base materials 3A, 3B to surely suppress contact between a separator plate and the friction surface, thereby obtaining a greater remarkable effect of reducing drag torque. When the segment type friction material 1 idles in a reverse direction, the enlarged portion of the friction material base material 3B and the slotted part 3b of the friction material base material 3B on the opposite side play the same role.
