The system has a plug-in module, which has a power storing element and a microprocessor unit. The microprocessor unit is coupled with power storing element having an assigned storage module for storing data. An interface unit (14) is coupled with the microprocessor unit for sending and receiving the data. A controlling software is provided for operating the plug-in module. The plug-in module is coupled between a controlling device and a computer system, and also with the bus system and the contacting device for transporting the data. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a base station for transferring data from and to a plug-in module, which has a computer system (2) a plug-in module for transporting data, which has a power memory element.
