The invention refers to an influencing mechanism to be used in a stop valve and/or regulating valve, comprising a spring (3, 26) and a releasable holding means for controlling the movement of a spindle (1, 22), associated with the valve in a first end position, where the spring (3, 26) is in a compressed state. The releasable holding means is electro-mechanical and fluid-free, and is arranged to cause the spring to expand to an uncompressed state in a constrained, controlled manner, for causing the spindle (1, 22) to move in a controlled manner to a second end position, and alternatively to release the spring, when the spring is in its compressed state, for allowing the spring to expand in a non-constrained manner to an uncompressed state, thereby releasing kinetic energy stored in the spring in its compressed state for causing the spindle to move in an unconstrained manner to the second position.
