PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling element not reducing lubrication characteristic even if it is stored under a usual humidity environment for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The rolling element is a rolling element which is coated with a solid lubrication film comprising silver or gold and an alloy of them prepared by a film formation method in which vacuum technology is applied to a surface of an iron-based alloy. After the rolling element is coated with the solid lubrication film, it is prepared by replacing the inside of a vacuum chamber with a dried gas before it is taken out in an atmosphere.
