A display panel is provided to suppress the conversion of gradation and improve the visibility by dividing a first alignment layer and a second alignment layer into plural pixel domains and pixel common domains, respectively. A first display substrate(100) has a plurality of pixel electrodes(180). A second display substrate(200) has a common electrode(280) facing the pixel electrodes. A first alignment layer(310) is formed on a portion of each of the pixel electrodes oppositely to the common electrode. A second alignment layer(320) is formed on a portion of the common electrode oppositely to each of the pixel electrodes. The first alignment layer is divided into a plurality of pixel domains having different alignment axes for each of the pixel electrodes. The second alignment layer is divided into a plurality of common domains having different alignment axes correspondingly to the pixel domains. A biaxial compensation film(520) is included in at least one of the first display substrate and the second display substrate.
