A cigarette having a starch core material built therein is provided to prevent the tobacco ashes from getting dropped from the cigarette without making the cigarette bent by external shock. A cigarette includes an outer cover(11), tobacco leaves(12) and a filter(13). The outer cover has a cylindrical shape. The tobacco leaves are filled into one side of the outer cover. The filter is filled into the other side of the outer cover. A starch core material(20) is installed inside the filling portion to the tobacco leaves in a longitudinal direction. The starch core material extends to the inside of the filter filling portion including the tobacco leaves filling portion. The starch core material is formed to be solid by compressing and molding the starch. The pores are formed on the surface of the starch core material.
