METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENCODING, DECODING, RECORDING, AND REPRODUCING DATA

A method and an apparatus for encoding/decoding data, and a method and an apparatus for recording/reproducing data are provided to stably decode and reproduce data by detecting errors of decoding path on the basis of decoding information. A method for encoding data comprises the steps of: inserting decoding information including data of predetermined bit into a data section; determining encoding values of each data according to the transition of data and the value of corresponding data; and outputting the decoding information and the determined encoding values by the unit of data section. In the step of inserting the decoding information into the data section, the decoding information is inserted into terminal data included in the data section. The decoding information displays a decoding value of the terminal data included in the data section.
