Provided is a printing method that suppresses displacement of additional printing carried out in association with additional recording of data when label printing is carried out on an optical recording medium having address information and that enables high-quality label printing. The printing method is applied to an optical recording medium M having a recording/playback functional layer enabling recording or playback by a laser beam, an information recording/playback surface 3 irradiated with the laser beam, and a printing layer separated from the information recording/playback surface by the recording/playback functional layer, wherein address information used for recording or playback is recorded on the recording/playback functional layer, the printing method comprising the steps of detecting the address information by irradiating the information recording/playback surface 3 with the laser beam; and carrying out printing on the printing layer using the detected address information.
