A method and an apparatus for printing patterns on candles are provided to facilitate printing work regardless of the size of the candle by printing words or patterns by rolling the candle on a transfer paper adsorbed or bonded on the plane by a vacuum suction or adhesion method. A method for printing patterns on candles(1) comprises the steps of: sucking a transfer paper(10) formed by laminating a release paper(11), a transparent coating layer(13), a print layer(15), and an adhesive layer(17) in order, to the rear paper by a vacuum suction plate(21); bringing the adhesive layer of the transfer paper into contact with the candle rotatably installed on a moving plate(31), by moving down the vacuum suction plate; and transferring the print layer on the candle by separating the transparent coating layer from the release paper by rotating the candle in the opposite direction for the movement of the moving plate.
