A system and a method for protecting FLV(FLash Video) contents are provided to prevent an illegal user from accessing and using the FLV contents illegally through a link by providing only the link for an FLV player-only flash file corresponding to an FLV file in a webpage without providing information for the FLV file. A generation server(122) generates a plurality of FLV player-only flash file corresponding to a plurality of FLV files. A web server(141) provides a webpage includes a link for at least one FLV player-only flash file. An FLV encoder(121) generates at least one FLV file from a moving picture file received from a user. A contents database(130) stores an ID of each FLV file by linking with the ID of the FLV player-only flash file. Each FLV player-only flash file includes information for one FLV file to be played. The link for one FLV file played by the FLV player-only flash file is not included in the link. An authentication sever(142) performs an authentication process by responding to the request of authentication received from the web sever.
