A system for providing an application or data is provided to enable a client to receive various applications or data by using unique information of a wireless terminal like an electric serial number, a mobile identification number, credit card number information or serial information of a chip. A system for providing an application or data includes a server(100) and a terminal(150). The server links an application or data, selected by a client who makes access via a wired or a wireless network, to portable phone information of the client or IC chip information of the portable phone, stores the linked information at a memory, and provides the application or the data, linked to the portable phone information or the IC chip information of the portable phone, for the terminal. The terminal provides the application or the data, transmitted by the server, for the portable phone or executes the application.
