A method of washing pressure filter with coarse-grained anthracite-quartz medium includes at the first stage the supply into the medium of compressed air and at the second stage - the washing of the medium by water. During the first stage bubbling of medium is performed by supply into the medium of compressed air with specific rates ranging from 0.6 to 1.2 m/(min•m) under standard conditions during 6-10 minutes, and the washing of the medium at the second stage is performed by supply into the medium of water with rates ranging from 0.6 to 1.2 m/(min•m) during 6-10 minutes, moreover at the second stage periodically the washing is performed with enlargement of the medium for 10 - 15% by supply into the medium of water with specific rates ranging from 1.8 to 2.1 m/(min•m) during 3-4 minutes.
