The assembly (1) has a main covering element (2) fixedly mounted on a motor vehicle, and an over-carpet (3) removably mounted on the element. The main element has a covering layer (4) integrated to a light source (5) e.g. LED, projected towards top of the layer. The source is integrated to the main element. The over-carpet has a light guide (7) made of flexible material. The guide is projected from orifices (6) and the source such that light, emitted by the source, propagates within the guide and through orifices.
