An RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) device for adjusting the magnitude of an output signal and a method thereof are provided to minimize the power consumption by selectively varying the magnitude of an output signal according to the distance from a tag. An RFID device(300) comprises an RFID connector(310), a microprocessor(330), a transmission block(350), and an receiving block(360). The RFID connector is connected with a host connector for data interfacing. The transmission block receives the first data signal, converts the first data signal into the second data signal having a certain voltage level in response to the first control signal, and outputs it. The receiving block receives generated tag information in response to the second data signal. Based on an output signal adjustment command, the microprocessor outputs the first control signal. Receiving the first data signal, the microprocessor outputs it to the transmission block after signal processing. |
